We often get asked if it is exhausting to climb Table Mountain. The answer is of course, yes. You must climb a few hundred meters to the top, but every meter is worth it!
The mountain is filled with beautiful and rare flora, birds, and living creatures on the ground, and together with the extraordinary scenery of Cape Town, all the routes we offer have the potential to blow your breath away.
During a South-Easter, you can blow off the mountain, and after heavy rains, when the rocks are slippery, it is unsafe to hike. Therefore hiking in Cape Town is weather-dependent.
Most of our routes are B-Grade routes, meaning some scrambling is required to get to the top. Scrambling is when you must use all your limbs to climb up a pitch of rocks. These pitches are usually short and not exposed. Some hiking routes have more scrambles than others.
More details can be found on the individual pages of each route below. None of the hiking routes we offer require the use of a rope, however, we carry a safety rope with us in case someone feels the need for the extra bit of security.
We also offer A-Grade routes, which require no scrambling, but although it might be less adventurous, you will not miss out on any beauty the mountain offers!
We know many more hiking routes on Table Mountain and will be delighted to take you on any route we know. We like to explore caves on the mountain and can also combine several routes.
The more remote the routes, the longer it gets and we can make full 8-hour day hikes on request, for the fit. We must walk fast on these hikes to have enough time to explore interesting places.
